Zinc-Backup
Zinc-Backup — Professional Data Backup for Windows, Linux and macOS
Zinc-Backup is a powerful and user-friendly backup solution for home users and small businesses. With a modern interface and comprehensive features, Zinc-Backup protects your data reliably — fully automatically in the background.
Flexible File Backup
Create as many backup plans as you need with flexible options: Mirror (exact copy), incremental backup or archiving. Plans can be grouped into projects and run at the click of a button or automatically on a schedule. File pattern exclusions, real-time progress display and automatic logging are included.
E-Mail Backup via IMAP
Back up your e-mails directly from the mail server — all IMAP providers are supported (Gmail, Outlook, custom servers). Choose your output format freely: ZIP archive, Maildir or individual EML files. Optional date range, incremental backup (new messages only) and synchronisation between two mailboxes complete the feature set.
Folder Comparison & Synchronisation
The built-in comparison wizard shows differences between two folders at a glance — by content, size or timestamp. Copy or move differences in either direction with a single click. Results can be exported as CSV.
Fully Automatic Operation
Zinc-Backup can run as a Windows Service (even without a logged-in user), via Windows Task Scheduler, systemd timer (Linux) or Cron (macOS/Linux). Once set up, everything runs without any intervention.
Cross-Platform
Natively available for Windows 10/11, Linux (glibc 2.29+) and macOS (Apple Silicon & Intel). No installation required — simply unzip and launch.
Secure & Transparent
All backups are logged and viewable at any time. E-mail passwords are stored encrypted. If problems arise, the built-in bug report wizard automatically creates a diagnostic package for support.
Zinc-Backup requires a licence and is hardware-bound. A free demo with full functionality (4-minute time limit) is available for download.
⚠ Already using Zinc-Backup 1.2.0? Before updating (Settings → Check for update), please back up the "data" folder in the program directory (copy it elsewhere). From version 1.3.0 onwards this risk is gone for good — the update from 1.2.0 is the only affected step.
